1875 Sheffield Daily Telegraph: Thomas W Binns, a young man living in Gilpin Street, was summoned by his mother Ann Binns of Darnall, for stealing a watch and other articles belonging to her. The case was dismissed. Out side the court she made a snatch at the watch he was wearing and a scuffle ensued. She was brought back into the dock and he into the witness box. She was bound over to keep the peace for 6 months.
1881 Jun 5 Marriage at St Philips, Shalesmoor of Ann Binns, widow age 45 of Caernarvon Street, father Thomas Turner, publican to; Thomas Charlesworth. Witnesses Thomas Binns, marked and Samuel Binns.
