Disgusting and violent assault on Mr Thomas Allinson, bailiff and auctioneer who was serving a legal process on James Binns. The details are unfit for publication. 1843 Sep 21 Bradford Observer: Inquest at the Binns Hotel, Low Harrogate on Mr Joseph Binns, age 46, boarding house keeper. Went to bed as usual, at 5 am wife awoke and found him snoring loudly, eyes open, resting head on his hand and elbow on the pillow. Never spoke in answer to her and died almost immediately after. He had previously complained of palpitations. Verdict, died by the visitation of God.
