1914 He was a trustee, together with Pickles Townend, of the will of his father Wilkinson Binns and was living at 27 Commercial Street, Oakworth, Keighley.His occupation is given as mill hand.

The Golden Wedding was reported in the local newspaper: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Atkinson Binns of Wren Lea, Riddlesden celebrated the golden anniversary of their wedding yesterday. They were married at Mill Hey Methodist Church, Haworth. Aged 75, Mr.Binns is a native of Oakworth where he spent the greater part of his life. For short periods, however, since his marriage, he has resided at Oldfield, Morecambe and York. His father Wilkinson Binns was a well-known tailor at Oakworth and Mr. Binns worked in the business for a short time. Later he was employed in the Water works Department of the Keighley Corporation for many years. He retired about 15 years ago. Mrs. Binns is 73 years of age and was born at Cross Roads. With her husband, she was for a long time a member of Oakworth Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Binns have lived at Riddlesden since the begining of the war. Tomorrow they are to celebrate the occasion by a reunion of their family. They have five children - three boys and two girls- and nine grandchildren. The Mayor of Keighley ( Mr. W. Waterhouse ) who is a close friend of Mr. Binns, and the Mayoress ( Miss Bottomley ), will visit Mr. and Mrs. Binns today.
1984 Notes taken by Gwenda Binns of conversation with Lily Binns: when Walter got a job at the Filter Beds they moved to Oldfield.They lived in the cottage second from the end in the photograph and it was number 18. Grandma ran a shop there- she was always trading and going to sales. They left Oldfield when Lily was 9 [ 1911]. They moved back to Commercial Street in Oakworth. At some point Walter was in Haggas' Mill spinning warehouse. Gwenda remembers: that when Walter died her father described him as, a true gentleman. He was obviously very fond of him
