A local Bradford directory held in the archives lists the Orphan Girls Home at 230 Manningham Lane and suggests that it was founded in 1872 as a charitable home for orphan and deserted girls, with a view to their being trained for servants. The Principal Archivist knows of no surviving records OR at 33 Barnard St.,Thornaby as servant with William Furmston occ. Contractor Ironworks born like Sarah A. in Wales.
