Frank Binns was the son of Frank T. and Isabella Binns of 258 Brook Hill, Sheffield and was aged 26 when he was killed in action whilst serving with the 174th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery on 12 January 1918. He is buried in the "Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery", Belgium. His Medal Index Card (a copy is with the medals) show these two medals are his only entitlement.
Also with the medals is the box of issue, the registered envelope, the named conveyance slip. A Sheffield "Peace" medal and a Sheffield Schools bronze swimming association medal, named to F. Binns, Biggin Shield, 1905. The medals are in a perfect condition with their original ribbons.
