1853 Apr 6 Worcestershire Chronicle: Thomas Binns, nailfogger of the Lye, fined 50s and costs for having a weight (28lbs) weighing 1lb more than it purported to do. It appeared the weight was used for buying in. Fined a further 50s for having a pair of unjust scales, found to be 1lb against the seller.
1856 May 7 Worcestershire Chronicle: John Taylor summoned by Thomas Binns, of the Lye, farmer [sic!], for neglecting his service. Ordered to return to work and give fourteen days notice and pay costs.
