1888 Jan 7 Birmingham Daily Post: Boiler explosion at No 9 plant of Pelsall Coal and Iron Company, killed three men. Mr J Binns was chief engineer and was responsible for all the companies engines and boilers and could appoint persons to assist. Daily external examinations were delegated by him to Ferriday. Jury decided explosion was an accident
