1861 Jan 5 Leeds Mercury: Mr Thompson Binns, cloth manufacturer, living in Yeadon, informed Leeds Borough magistrates regarding a forged bill for £98 15s given to him by William Worthington, cloth merchant of Leeds.
1861 Jan 12 Leeds Mercury: Total amount owed by Worthington to Thompson Binns was £424 19s.
1861 Census married head at Yeadon Moor, age 30, woollen cloth manufacturer
1861 Mar 14 Leeds Mercury:Trial of Worthington and Hanlon at York Spring Assizes; Crown Court; in respect of fraud on Thompson Binns. Both found guilty. On 16th each given 15 months hard labour.
1862 Mar 21 London Gazette: Thompson Binns of Yeadon, cloth manufacturer conveys and assigns all his share in Union and Albert Mills, Yeadon, and his personal estate and effect except household furniture to the value of £20 to Trustees for the benefit of his creditors.
