Ernest's work with timber and as a French Polisher is still to be seen in many of the older buildings in Brisbane in Queensland as he did much work in Theatres and Parliament and Government House and Brisbane City Hall Ballroom, the Ballroom of the City Hall has just been refurbished due to many floods, but the woodwork has been reused in new parts of the building.
