[After house jobs in Cornwall and national service in the Royal Air Force Christopher trained in Northampton before entering general practice. An early member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, he became provost of the Thames Valley faculty in 1982. He founded the Northampton vocational training scheme and made valuable contributions to GP education throughout the Oxford region. Christopher wrote many articles for the medical press and the books A Human Approach to General Practice (1963), How to Treat your Doctor (1965), and Medicine, the Forgotten Art (1978), comparing modern ethics with those of Hippocrates. He leaves three children.]
