1870 Age on burial record is 76 but on stone says in 75th year.
1871 Probate of will and two codicils granted to Pearson Atkinson, son, Robert Atkinson, cousin, and John Smith, grocer: power reserved to grant probate to John Tuly, friend. Robert Atkinson is not found in Yorkshire in 1881. A John Smith is found in 1881 at 90 North St, Keighley, age 59, widowed provision dealer, living with a large family and two servants. John Tuley is found in 1881 living at Lidget,age 60, married(wife age 48 with 3 chidren), contractor employing 13 men, his son Frederick, age 24 is a stone mason.Next to John Tuley is William Wade, age 37, stone mason and his wife and family. He is mentioned in the will as being the occupier of Benjamin's property which was given to Susanna and Elizabeth. Benjamin's watch was left to Thomas Benjamin Trigg who is found without the Thomas in 1881 at 20 Hill St, Keighley, head, age 30, born Bradford, with wife and two children, occupation shopman in tailoring. Some mahogany drawers belonging to his Uncle Barraclough are left to his daughter Susannah Smith. Portraits of Benjamin and his wife are left to Pearson Atkinson. Property at New Saithe is given to Sarah Dixon was occupied by William Barrit who is not singularly identified in 1881 census.
1865 Dockroyd Wesleyan Cemetery: In loving memory of Benjamin ATKINSON of Prospect House, Oakworth who died Sept 6th 1870 in his 76th year

Joyce writes "Prospect house named as such on early deeds but [name is] no longer in use. It is the property now used as the Post Office at the top of Dockroyd, numbered 1,3,& 5, Chapel Lane. No. 5 was the cottage. When the Sugdens took over the property many years ago, the irons etc. for the tailoring business were still there."
